Newton Room Decorative Graphics
Newton Rooms are filled with objects of fascination, and among them, larger than life wall prints meant to inspire and encourage learning and curiosity. They are selected and incorporated into the Newton Room holistically, taking into account the room’s purpose, its audience and desired effects in learning, defined by Newton’s Identity and Learning Design Guidelines.
Whereas decorative prints can be seen as an opening chapter, an educational print can be considered a full story.
Decorative prints are or wall-to-wall wallpapers showing different scenes, moods and textures. They are used to add colour and texture to the room. Thematically, they describe the world in its full beauty and highlighting amazing details and moments. Conceptually, they should be easily describable by a Newton Teacher. They can be introduced into the system if they fit the Newton DNA visually and have a logical connection to the curriculum of the room and its audience.
Table of Newton Elements, a visual representation of the Newton DNA
What both educational and decorative prints have in common is the Newton DNA, making every new graphic a future element in the system, and a purpose, as every print should have a valid reason to be chosen and placed exactly there.
Some of our favourites can be seen below and in Newton Rooms around the world.
