The aim of this series, JUNGIANEUM: Re-Covered Classics in Analytical Psychology, which Stefano Carpani started in 2022, is to (re)publish masterpieces in analytical psychology that, for different reasons, are out of the market and that find difficulty in getting (re)published.
Re-Covered Classics in Analytical Psychology is an initiative for (re)publishing high standard and academic work in the field of analytical psychology (with a strong interdisciplinary flavour focusing on psychoanalysis at large). This initiative is driven by necessity, as the publishing market had changed in recent years due to the digitalisation on the publishing industry, the fact that online shops increased in market dominance and aggressively lowered the profitability of traditional publishing houses. As a result, there are very few companies continuing to survive on the old model of large print runs, warehousing books, and full upfront “good faith” investment upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication.
Also, historical Jungian publishers are rapidly shutting down, or are no longer accepting titles. This situation has left a gaping hole whereby up-and-coming and forward-thinking scholars of the Jungian, analytical field lack access to a wider audience and the means to contribute to the greater intellectual and psychosocial/mental health readership communities.
